Patricia Louise (Heck) Acker , VRHS Class of 1962

ACKER Patricia Louise (Heck) Rensselaer, New York May 19, 1944 - November 24, 2010 Patricia Louise Acker was a lifelong resident of the city of Rensselaer.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Arthur G. Heck and Louise Catherine Lord-Heck. Patricia was predeceased by her brothers, James Heck of Rensselaer and Arthur G. Heck of Averill Park and her beloved niece, Krista L. Heck. She is survived by her three children, Beth Acker (Jason Crogan) of Schenectady, James Acker II (Renee Yancy-Acker) of Columbiaville and Susan Jones Poli (Anthony Poli) of Monticello. She had six grandchildren, Anthony Poli Jr., Catherine Poli, Christiana Poli, Coral Coons, Aaron Whitchurch and Noah Whitchurch. Her sister-in-law, Barbara Stewart-Heck of Averill Park; and her niece, Sandra Miles (Tim); and nephew, Jeffrey B. Heck; several cousins and friends.

Patricia was an employee at the Hess Oil plant in the early 1970's and then worked for the State of New York in the Office of General Services until 1982. She was a homemaker until her passing in November. Patricia was a state committee woman for the Republican Party, and always enjoyed being involved in politics. Patricia was a resident of the Renwyck Senior housing. She loved to cook and enjoyed the holiday seasons especially Christmas. She collected music boxes and teapots. She loved making crafts with her children and the neighborhood children.

A memorial service was held at the Church of Redeemer, 3rd Street, Rensselaer, N.Y. with a reception following at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles on Broadway (the old Burns Pharmacy).
