Marilyn A Sheffer , VRHS Class of 1954
RENSSELAER — Marilyn A. Sheffer passed peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at her home with her loving family by her side. Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer and was the daughter of the late A. Irving and Doris (Walters) Sheffer. She was a longtime and very active member of the First Baptist Church of Rensselaer where she especially enjoyed her participation in the church choir. Marilyn volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross and was a faithful blood donor. She retired as a manager with Blue Shield of NENY. Marilyn was a member of the Rensselaer Senior Center and enjoyed line dancing. She is survived by her sister Janice Schroll; sisters-in-law, Wilma Sheffer and Francis Sheffer; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her brothers, Irving and Donald Sheffer; and sister Helen Vigliotti. Marilyn’s family would like to thank St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates Home Based Primary Care Program in Troy and her many loving caretakers. Burial is in North Chatham Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Marilyn’s name to a charity of their choice.
