Marge (McGowan) Clancy , VRHS Class of 1949
Margie M. McGowan Clancy, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in Troy. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Ira and Sarah McGowan. A graduate of Van Rensselaer High School, Margie furthered her education at Mildred Elley Secretarial School. She worked for Stork Diaper Service and Cuddle Buns Diaper Service during her career. Margie was known for her sociable nature and cherished her time spent with friends and family and neighbors. She had a love for cooking and was particularly devoted to caring for her grandsons, Brian and Jaydan. Margie was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Joseph Clancy. She is survived by her children, Diane (Michael) Ganeles and David J. Clancy, as well as her grandsons, Brian and Jaydan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, including her wonderful neighbors. Burial will be at Blooming Grove Rural Cemetery, North Greenbush. In loving memory memorial contributions may be made in Margie's name to the American Heart Association.
