Stires, Lois Mae McDaniel RENSSELAER Lois Mae McDaniel Stires passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021, at the age of 89 years old. The daughter of the late Laura and Manassa (Mac) McDaniel, Lois was born on February 5, 1931, and was a longtime resident of East Greenbush and Sarasota, Fla. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Leonard Kirsch Jr.; as well as her two grandchildren, Amy Haberland and Michael Kirsch. Lois had many interests including sewing, cooking, attending church and singing in the choir. She was an active member of the East Greenbush First Methodist Church and also the Girl Scout Organization. Lois deeply loved her family and is survived by her brother Earl (Norma) McDaniel; her five children, Leonard (Barbara) Kirsch III, Linda Kirsch, Laurice Kirsch Haberland, Daniel Kirsch, and Kathleen Kirsch; her eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Lois Mae McDaniel Stires to either a charity of one's choice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
