Marianne "May" Barnard , VRHS Class of 1974
Marianne "May" Barnard, 66, passed away June 10, 2023 after a long courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jean (DeValentino) Barnard. May attended Rensselaer Jr. Sr. High School and was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer. May retired from a long career at Hinman Straub Law Office. May's friends were lifelong and faithful to the end. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her special little friend Rosie and her beloved dogs Frank and Bean. May is survived by her children Kristyn (Brian) LaPoint and Jennifer Butler. She was the sister of Edward L Barnard, Vickie (Al) Myers, Nancy (Warren) Whinnery, and Timothy (Jean) Barnard. Also survived by her nephew Allen Myers and so many loving friends. A memorial service will be held at 10AM on Thursday June, 15th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, with a graveside service immediately following at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3rd Ave. Extension, Rensselaer.
