John "Jack" D Tudico , VRHS Class of 1934

RENSSELAER - John D. "Jack" Tudico, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at home with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Rockland Lake, NY, he was the son of the late Eusanio and Maria Tudico.

He attended Van Rensselaer High School.

From 1943 to 1945 Jack was a member of the Military Police in the 1st Armored Division.

He played baseball in the Albany Twilight League during the 1940s. He also was a widely-known Capital District baseball umpire and football referee.

He retired in 1981 from the Rensselaer Police Department as a detective sergeant.

Jack was a state Senate sergeant-at-arms from 1981 to 2002.

He was a communicant of Historic St. Mary's Church in Albany.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Claire Forgea Tudico of Rensselaer; his loving children, Karen Bambrola of Ballston Spa, Maryellen (Frank) Keane of Schenectady, Paul Tudico of Johnson City, TN, and Maria (Christopher) Augostini of North Potomac. MD; six cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Alicia Bambrola, Colleen and Andrea Keane and Rachael and Madeleine Augostini. Nine brothers and sisters predeceased Jack. His brother Paul Tudico of Glenmont and sister Rosina Pardo of Rensselaer survive him. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
