Norma J (Bowmaker) McDaniel , VRHS Class of 1949
EAST GREENBUSH - Norma J. McDaniel, 92, of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at home in Hawthorne Ridge. Norma was born September 7, 1931, in Rensselaer, N.Y., the daughter of the late Hilton Bowmaker and Helen (Leslie) Bowmaker. Norma was an Administrative Assistant for N.Y. Telephone for many years before retiring. Norma loved to golf, play cards, puzzles, and wintering in Bradenton, Fla. She and her husband enjoyed many cruises and travels. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Earl McDaniel; and devoted mother of Patricia (Leonard) Vona, Ellen (Nick) Mottolese, Wayne (Conni) McDaniel, and David (Maureen) McDaniel. Norma was the cherished Grammie to Amy (Ian) Laskowitz, David (Julia) Vona and Jeffrey (Caitlin) Vona; Kelly (James) Bartosik and Emily Mottolese; Matthew, Kathryn and Erin McDaniel. Norma was the proud 'SUPER' Grammie to Lucas, Marcus and Maya Laskowitz, Zack, Dex and Crew Vona, and Miles, Talia and Tatum Bartosik; also survived by many nieces, nephews and her brother, Kenneth Bowmaker. She was predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Snyder. Interment will be in the St. Matthews Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont.
