Robert T Faas, Sr , VRHS Class of 1956

Robert T. Faas age, 73 years of East Greenbush, passed away Monday December 19, 2011.

He was born in Albany, raised in Rensselaer and lived in East Greenbush since 1974. Mr. Faas was employed by Niagara Mohawk for 34 years, working for the company from 1960-1994. Bob was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1956-1960. holding the position of radar operator. After his retirement he was employed by McGrath's Florist in Schodack and Peterson's Florist in East Greenbush. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of the NIMO Pension Club East. Bob was a Life Member of the Rensselaer Lodge of Elks BPOE 2073 and a coach for East Greenbush Pop Warner Football. He was #1 Columbia Blue Devil fan, watching his grandchildren play ball, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball and New York Giants football.

Husband of 49 years to Katherine Pasquini Faas of East Greenbush; father of Robert T. Faas Jr. (Ann) of Ballston Lake, Michael Faas (Melissa) of East Greenbush, Daniel Faas (Karrie) of East Greenbush and the late Patricia Ann Faas; grandfather of Jennifer Faas of Schenectady, Rebecca Faas of Colonie, Alexandra and Michael Faas of East Greenbush and Joseph, Hillary, Jacob and Natalie Faas of East Greenbush; great-grandfather of Alexis and Owyn; son of the late Harry and Dorothy Faas; brother of Cathy Faas Burke (Tim) of Valatie and the late William, Donald and Gerald Faas; son-in-law of Helen Pasquini; brother-in-law of Jack Pasquini (Sue) of Nassau, Attil Pasquini of Paducah, Ky., Peg Devey (Jay) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Marybeth Otis (Michael) of Gallupville, N.Y., Helen Nolan (Frank) of Delmar, Jean Bulman (William) of Loudonville, Robert Pasquini (Eileen) of Delmar, James Pasquini (Donna) of Coeymans, Eleanor Malott (Don) of Clarksville and Paul Pasquini of East Greenbush. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be from the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Friday morning at 11:00. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
