RENSSELAER Leslie R. Barnard III, 68, died Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Albany Medical Center, peacefully in the presence of his family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Leslie R. and Jeanne Hannon Barnard Jr. Leslie worked for twenty years for both BA Railroad and Conrail. He then attended H.V.C.C. and The College of Saint Rose where he earned a bachelor's degree and began working as a counselor at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a longtime member of the sons of the American Legion. Leslie enjoyed, grilling, barbecuing, fishing, the Adirondacks, especially Lake George and was an animal lover. He is survived by his brother Wayne (Susan) Barnard Sr.; and his nephews, Wayne Jr. and Brett (Brittany) Barnard. Leslie is also survived by several cousins. All services are private.
