Barbara Whittam , VRHS Class of 1960
Troy - Barbara D. Whittam, 82, of Troy, passed away Friday, July 5th, 2024, at home surrounded by family and friends. Barbara was born in Albany, NY the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Shaver) Whittam. She was a graduate of Van Rensselaer High and worked in the NYS Health Department for 38 years. Barbara loved horse racing, going to casinos, and most of all, all her pups over the years. She leaves behind an extended family of friends including her life long best friend, Nancy Brown; extended family "her Brooking boys" William, Jack, Ernie, and Carl and their families; friends, Susan (Al) Sellick, Barry Brown and Family, Lulu Close, and Anne Margiera. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by some of her extended family, George Brooking, James Brooking and John Vallins.
