Edward "Eddie" T Dickert , VRHS Class of 1960

Dickert, Edward T. RENSSELAER Edward T. Dickert, 68, of Rensselaer died peacefully Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Albany, he was a resident of the Capital Region his entire life. Ed retired in 2005 after 28 years as a photogra-pher for the NYS Senate. Prior to that he worked for Ramark-Varden Studios and the Albany Times Union. He had the honor of having one of his photographs published with his byline in the Sunday New York Times. He was a member of Rensselaer Elks BPOE #2073 and Watervliet Rod and Gun Club. Photography was his greatest passion and he enjoyed giving his pictures to family and friends. Ed loved nature, being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He had a unique sense of humor and loved being with people. Ed also loved to dance.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary (Hughes) Dickert. He is survived by his wife, Terry (Corcoran) Dickert of Watervliet; stepchildren, Scott (Mary) Montie, Kelly (Don) Simpson, Jeff Montie and Krista Montie; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Dickert and Frederick (Pam) Dickert. Also survived by two step-grandchildren, Ashley and Alicia Simpson; mother-in-law Mary Corcoran; brother-in-law Jay Corcoran; nieces, Amy (Andrew) Kloss, Cathy (John) Holts, Casey (Christopher) Decker and nephew, Craig (Jackie) Dickert.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all the staff on C1 at Van Rensselaer Manor for their patience and wonderful care they gave to Ed. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
