Howard William Adams, Jr , VRHS Class of 1956

SCHODACK - Howard William Adams, Jr., son of the late Marjorie (Fulton) Adams and Howard William Adams, Sr., entered God's Kingdom peacefully on August 15, 2015 after an untimely illness. Howard was born on October 8, 1937 in Albany, NY and grew up in the city of Rensselaer.

Howard is survived by his beloved wife Linda Diane (Williams) Adams, children Melissa A. Hilstro and her beloved husband William J. Hilstro, Sr., Scott Adams, Christine Marie Genito, James D. Genito and his beloved wife Amy Genito, grandchildren William J. Hilstro, Jr., Sarah M. Hilstro, Cristyn Barron and her beloved husband Eric, Brittany Lynn Herson, Sage Kristian Herson, Rachel Jane Genito and Emma Rose Genito. Howard is survived by three siblings, Frank A. Adams, Bruce E. Adams and Darryl L. Adams. Howard is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Howard retired from BASF Corp. after 40 plus years with the title of Supervisor. Howard served in the United States Army stationed in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Howard held the rank of Medical Specialist/Sergeant and awarded the Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle). Howard received an honorable discharge from active duty in 1963, and returned to the Army Reserve, completing his service obligation of six years. Howard was a long time member of the Melvin Roads American Legion Post 1231, past member of Pumper 4 Rensselaer Fire Department and Troy Lodge of Elks BPOE 141. Howard was an avid sportsman and loved to bow-hunt in Canada, Texas, Colorado, Mexico and Illinois.
