Joan D (Adriance) Adriance-Noble , VRHS Class of 1951
Joan Adriance-Noble passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 89 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Theodore Adriance and Beatrice Dissosway- Adriance. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years; Bill. She was also predeceased by her sister, Betty Willbrant and brother, Theodore Adriance II. Joan was born in Rensselaer and graduated from Van Rensselaer High School. She retired from Russell Sage College where she worked as a secretary to the library director. Her hobbies have included reading, current events, knitting, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, NASCAR, and was an avid Civil War buff. She also loved her annual trips to Cape Cod with her family. Joan resided in Averill Park for 60 years before moving to the Summit at Eastwyck and then to VanRensselaer Manor. Joan is survived by her daughters Vicki (Walter) Eames and Jill (David) Spoore and grandchildren, Kevin (Bri Lashway) Vanderhoef, Kelly (Griff) Hunter, and Stephen Spoore. She is also survived by her feline companion Autumn, several nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends. A special thank you, also, to the staff at Albany Med and Van Rensselaer Manor. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery. Arrangements will be private at the convenience of the family.
