Mary (O'Connor) Hofelich , VRHS Class of 1947
Mary P. Hofelich passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Rensselaer and has been a lifelong resident of the Capital District. She worked for and retired from the New York Telephone Company in Menands. Mary dedicated much of her life to helping others. Upon retirement, she continued to volunteer at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Cathedral's food pantry and social services, and would provide help to anyone in need. She loved bowling, swimming, taking long walks and many Monday lunches at the Fountain with her dear friends. But mostly, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the wife of the late Charles C. Hofelich; mother of Claudia A. Fisher and the late Charles P. Hofelich; grandmother of Claudia L. Fisher (Peter A. Mancini) and Melissa M. Jensen; and great-grandmother of Alaina A. Jensen and Callie M. Jensen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
