Russell "Russ" Edward Brown , VRHS Class of 1969
Colonie-Russell E. Brown, age, 56 years, of Fuller Terrace passed away Friday September 14, 2007 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Albany, grew up in Rensselaer and has lived in Colonie for 16 years. Russ was employed as a locomotive engineer for Amtrak, working for the railroad for over 30 years. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast. Russ loved to hunt, fish and was an avid reader, gardener and had a keen interest of the Civil War. He was always there with a big laugh in good times and bad. Father of Rian (Anna Collins) Brown of Stephentown and Sarah (Jason) Gregory of Italy; and brother of Stephen A. (late Peggy) Brown of Rensselaer, Richard D. (Barbara Jo) Brown of Binghamton, Nancy L. (late Richard) Cooney of Rensselaer, Lorraine G. (Dan) Doedema of Rensselaer and the late Alan W. Brown. Grandfather of Alan and Angela Brown; long time companion of Mary Ann Becker of Colonie; brother-in-law of Cindy Brown of Anderson IN. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday prior to the service from 4-8 PM. Internment will be in Bloomingrove Cemetery Defreestville Wednesday morning at 10:00.
