Shelton, Gloria Gene RENSSELAER Gloria Gene Shelton, 58, peacefully fell asleep in death Thursday, April 8, 2010 surrounded by family and friends at St. Peter's Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the caregiver of the family who truly loved life. She was a dedicated and faithful worshiper of Jehovah God and loved and lived for him by her activity in the preaching work. She was a 1969 graduate of Van Rensselaer High School. Gloria and her family are grateful for the loving support and care of the friends, especially those in the Tagalog Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, throughout this very challenging and difficult time in her life. We wish also to thank the doctors, nurses and the staff at St. Peter's Hospital and Dr. Michael Kolodziej for their constant care, comfort and oversight. Gloria was the loving daughter of Reva Shelton and the late Charlie Shelton; sister of Shirley Haworth, Bonnie Shelton, Katherine Dougrey (deceased) and Kathleen Shelton (deceased); aunt of Sheila (Guldfeldt) Wagenbaugh, Jessica Dougrey, Eric Guldfeldt, Benjamin Dougrey, James Haworth, great-aunt of Samantha Wagenbaugh and Sebastian Wagenbaugh. Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside committal service Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. in the New Rural Cemetery, 3rd Ave Ext., Rensselaer, followed by a memorial service 1:00 p.m. that same day at the Rensselaer Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Third Ave. Ext.
