William F Schroeder , VRHS Class of 1963
RENSSELAER William F. Schroeder, 72, of Rensselaer died suddenly Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his Florida residence. br> br> William was born in Ft. Smith, Ark. The son of the late Edward and Eleanor Schroeder. br> br> William was a graduate of Rensselaer High School, class of 1963. He was the piping superintendent for Tougher industries for 40 years retiring in 2010 William was a member of Local 7 Steamfitters union where he was also an apprentice teacher. William was the driver of car #28 at Lebanon valley Speedway for Schroeder Greene racing '67-95. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many days hunting and fishing with his son and lifelong friend, Wayne Bentley. He was also a member of the Adirondack Woodsman. William loved to spend his summers with his grandchildren fishing and boating at his camp on Methodist Farm on Crooked Lake. He was also a coach for Rensselaer Pop Warner for many years. William is survived by his wife, Patricia (Massara) Schroeder; two daughters, Kristine (Kevin) Kretzschmar and Diana (Ian) Edmond; and one son, Mark (Lisa) Schroeder; brother of David E. (Nancy) Schroeder. Grandfather of Ryan, Tyler Schroeder, Emily, Andrew, Joshua Kretzschmar, Jackson, and Lillian Edmond. William is also survived by his faithful companion, Lizzy; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be private at convenience of family at a later date.
