Tina (Jackson) Rivenburgh , VRHS Class of 1978

Rensselaer- Tina M. Jackson Rivenburgh, 54, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side.

Tina was born in Albany and raised in Rensselaer. She was the daughter of Patricia and the late John David Jackson, Sr. Tina graduated from Van Rensselaer Jr./Sr. High School. She worked at the New York State Senate for many years and also at Stewarts in East Greenbush. Tina was surrounded by many good friends and relatives that loved her and they were always a great help to her and her family. Her best childhood friend, Nancy Best Campbell never left her side. We thank them all for their love and support for the past fifteen months.

Tina had many hobbies including making blankets for her grandchildren, making jewelry, dream catchers, planting flowers and going to East Greenbush pow-wows. Tina spent most weekends camping with her family and friends. She also spent time in the winter in Florida with her mother and relatives, and enjoyed traveling, especially with her family on cruises to Jamaica and Mexico and attending her brother's wedding in Hawaii.

Besides her mother she is survived by her three children Holly (Johnny) Rivers, Joseph Jr. and Adam Rivenburgh. Granddaughter of the late Ray and Eva Roberts. Sister of John David "J.D." (Krista) Jr. of Seoul Korea and Randy Jackson of Clifton Park. She will be greatly missed by her cherished grandchildren Jennah and Shawn Perez, David Rivenburgh and Anthony Scofield, niece Jordan and nephew Kyle Jackson in Seoul Korea and her fiance Charles Scofield of Rotterdam.

Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, Friday evening at 7:00. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 4-7PM. The family would like to make a special thank you to Rensselaer County Community Hospice for their care, concern and compassion shown to Tina.
