Stephen A Benedetto , VRHS Class of 1969
Stephen A. Benedetto, 65, of Schenectady passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 26, 2017. Born on July 9, 1951, in Rensselaer, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Matilda Barnett Benedetto. Stephen was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Stephen proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Stephen worked construction for various companies throughout his life until his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking and going on camping trips with his family and friends. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by two sisters, Judith Wark and Shirley Bilbee; and his brother, Paul Benedetto. Survivors include his three children, Theresa (Kevin) Richards of Niskayuna, Matthew (Melody) Benedetto of Broomfield, Colo., and Jessica Benedetto of Schenectady; three grandchildren, Natalie Richards, and Scott and Gavin Benedetto; sister, Kathleen Perrego; former wife, Maureen Lynn; his dog, Radar; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
