Rodney P Schroeder , VRHS Class of 1955

NORTH GREENBUSH - Rodney P. Schroeder, 88, of Rensselaer, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at home.
Rodney was born in Albany, New York, the son of the late Raymond and Ethel (Myers) Schroeder.
Rodney loved being an honorary member of the North Hoosick Fire Department community. He provided the sound system for the Hill Country cloggers for many years.
He was also jokingly referred to as the "Mayor" because he always knew someone wherever he went, near or far. He was well-loved by his community and network of many friends of all ages.
Rodney served in the U.S. Coastguard and then worked for Huyck Felt for 30 years before retiring the first time. He then went on to work for several more years as a bus driver for Averill Park Schools district before retiring a second time.
Survivors include his daughter, Darlene (Rich) Sinclair, Laurie (John) Waldron, and Robert (Yvette) Schroeder; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Daranda and Zach shared a close bond with Grampy.
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie, N.Y.
