Barbara Mary (Furlong) Carter , VRHS Class of 1961
RENSSELAER It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Mary Carter (Furlong) on September 5, 2018. Barbara was a generous, feisty, Red Hat warrior who in spite of a long debilitating illness, was steadfast in fulfilling that which she deemed most important: her role as a mother to her son Damien Carter. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Robert Furlong Sr.; her siblings, Therese Furlong, Frances Robinson, Alice Ferguson, Sheila Furlong, Robert Furlong Jr. and William Furlong. She is survived by her son Damien and his wife Jennifer; her grandchildren, Benjamin and Nathaniel Carter; her sisters, Roberta Teixeira and Carol Mousseau; her dear friend Erminia Bauer and her son Joshua Bauer; nieces, Cheryl Reidy, Kelly Tumlinson, Jeanette Furlong and loved niece (Miracle) Michelle Robinson who held a warm place in her heart; nephews, Lionel Ferguson, Gary Teixeira, Mark Furlong, Daryl Peagler, William Furlong Jr. and Peter Furlong; and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins. Services were held in the Church of the Redeemer on Third St. in Rensselaer.
