016-17 ANNUAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP FUND DRIVE
The Alumni Association of the Rensselaer NY School District wishes you and yours Happy Holidays! Included in this mailing is information on the Alumni Association, a Membership form, and information about, and a nominating form for the Hall of Fame. We are proudly coming to the close of the fifth year as an organized association. The following summarizes our achievements for 2016:

Electing officers : Lynne Beiermeister ‘69, president; Deborah Irving Reimann ’74, VP; Marianne Heller Brownell ’71, Secretary; Ginny Colvin Lazzaro ’69, Treasurer; and Thomas Mulyca ’69, Technical Advisor;

Updating and maintaining our data base;
-
Informing members of our activities through The Advertiser, The Troy Record and Times Union, emails, flyers, websites and social media (see below for URLs);
-
Fund raising through the membership drive, memorial contributions, raffles, Hall of Fame dinner, seat cushion, T-shirt, mugs and button sales;
-
Continuing the Alumni Club for High School students under faculty advisor and alumna Denise Roberts Wright ‘83;
-
Awarding two $500 Centennial Awards, begun by the class of 1948, to graduating seniors;
-
Renewing and increasing Enrichment Grant to the school district from $1000 to $1500;
-
Granting $500 to the Drama Club for their “Class of Life” fund raiser;
-
Granting $500 to the Friends of the Half Moon for 8 students to go to The Netherlands;
-
Hosting the annual Senior Class Breakfast begun by the class of 1948;
-
Group activities including Homecoming; the sing-a-long at the Winter Concert; Craft Fair and Alumni Day at the Races;
-
Inducting 5 new members into the Alumni Hall of Fame at a dinner in April at the Troy Elks;
-
Collaborating with the Rensselaer Kiwanis and other city organizations on donating an electronic digital sign for the school and community and;
-
Preparing a float and marching in the Memorial Day Parade which we plan to as an annual event.
To accomplish these goals, we have established some Alumni Association membership levels which are listed on the form on the back of this page. Your membership level will appear on our website with your name and in our publications (unless you wish to remain anonymous). Your membership donation will go towards your voluntary annual dues for the upcoming year. Dues are necessary to maintain the above existing & planned activities. If you are a business owner and wish for your business to be recognized in our publications, please include your business card/information. Membership cards will be issued only to members who are new this year. Please bookmark our website at www.rensselaernyalumni.org and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/#/groups/RenssSchoolsAlumni to keep up with our news and reunite with classmates. There is also an Alumni News page on the school’s website at http://rcsd.k12.ny.us/high/alumninews.htm. General membership meetings are held in the Large Group Instruction (LGI) room in the High School at 6:30pm on the first Tuesday of every month. We encourage all to attend.
