Pat was an alumnus of the class of 1962 and a relative of the Mann family alumni. On behalf of the alumni association we offer our condolences to his family and friends on their loss. Pat also served the city of Rensselaer as a police officer. May he rest in peace. McDonald, Patrick J. Sr. NORTH GREENBUSH Patrick J. McDonald Sr., age 71, of Bloomingrove Drive in North Greenbush passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015. He was born in Albany on April 1, 1944, and lived in Rensselaer most of his life. He graduated from Van Rensselaer High School in 1962. Pat served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 -1968. Pat was employed as a police officer for the City of Rensselaer from 1968 thru 1993. Son of the late Andrew M. McDonald and Alice L. Brophy. Father of Patrick J. (Victoria) McDonald Jr. Grandfather of Aiden Patrick and Eamon Andrew McDonald. Brother of Sharon A. Flynn and the late Olive M. (Ernie, survives) Mann, Alice L. Peltz, Catherine M. (John) Yonkers and Andrew M. McDonald Jr. Pat is also predeceased by his former spouse, Blanche Boissy McDonald. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, Herrick Street, Rensselaer, where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
