Marsha R (Buckbee) Matthews , VRHS Class of 1954

Brooklyn, NY - Marsha Rose (Buckbee) Matthews, 65, formerly of Rensselaer, died suddenly Sunday, May 12, 2002 at her residence in Brooklyn. Born in Albany, she was a graduate of Van Rensselaer High School and Brooklyn Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, where she worked for many years. For the past 15 years she was a registered nurse for Dr. Emil Baccach in Brooklyn, before retiring earlier this year. She belonged to the Auxiliary alumni association of Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include her longtime friend and companion, August Newbeck of Brooklyn; dear friend Betty fleck of Brooklyn ad Nancy Arp of Pahrump, NV. Sister-in-law of Bev Buckbee of East Schodack; aunt of Michael (Debbie) Buckbee, Stephen Buckbee and Robin Granger, Susan (John) Neuman; grandnieces, Stephanie, Ericka and Ashley; grandnephews, John, Ian and Sean; special "aunt" cousin to Emerson, Kevin, Kim (Pete) Ostrander and Kelly (Duffer) Kendrick; ad many cousins and friends. Marsha was predeceased by her parents, Marshall C. and Charlotte (Ashley) Buckbee; a brother, Charles; and her cousin, Joan Ostrander.
Interment will be in Greenbush Cemetery, East Greenbush, NY.
