Daniel E Harbeck , VRHS Class of 1975

Rensselaer - Daniel E. Harbeck, 64, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 13, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Rensselaer, he is the son of the late Ralph and Jeanne (Reedy) Harbeck.

Dan was employed by Honeywell for many years before retiring recently due to his illness. He was a lover of the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, jet skiing and spending his cherished summers in Ticonderoga. He was also an accomplished horseshoe player, winning many tournaments throughout the years. Dan will always be remembered by those who loved him as the life of the party with a laugh and a smile that would light up the room. He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Dan is survived by his beloved daughter, Danielle Harbeck; his cherished granddaughter, Breanna Best; his siblings, Barbara (Walter) Lischak, Rick (Dorothy Martin) Harbeck, Bette (John) Lacivita, Joanne (Bill) McCarthy, Mary K (Ron Babbitt) Dejulio, and Elaine (Fred) Nardacci; and his step-father, David Palladino. Dan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother, James Harbeck.
