Dorothy "Dottie" A (Delk) Reid , VRHS Class of 1960

RENSSELAER Dorothy "Dottie" Reid, daughter of the late Mary and Lonnie Delk, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020.

She was born and raised in Rensselaer, in one of the first homes built in Eastland Park. She graduated from Rensselaer High School and Albany Business College and then went on to work for the Hospital Association of New York State for many years. She moved to Albany after marrying her husband Joseph T. Reid Sr. where they lived with their children until 1977. They then returned to Rensselaer and lived in her childhood home which was built by her parents. This was her longtime wish. Her strength and determination to be independent made it possible. Her biggest joy was her family. She had five children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She looked forward to any time she could spend with any of them and lived for those days. Dottie belonged to the Red Hats and was the treasurer until recently. She loved to go on the group outings and wear her funny red hats to all of them.
