Arthur "Artie" Elmendorf , VRHS Class of 1969
MAYFIELD -- Arthur "Artie" F. Elmendorf, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in Yonkers and was the son of the late Leona Woolford. He was raised and resided in Rensselaer for many years before moving to the Adirondacks, which was his true love. Artie was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known as a true outdoorsman. He was the husband of Yvonne F. Hughes Elmendorf; father of Donna M. Malmstrom and Diane L. Elmendorf; and grandfather of John and Jeremy Breithaupt. The funeral will be in the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer on Monday at 12 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
