Shorts, Leonard LEE Mass. Leonard Shorts departed this life on March 7, 2011, at Laurel Lake Nursing Center in Lee, Mass., after a lengthy illness. He was born in Albany N.Y., August 6, 1948 to the late Louis and Annie Shorts. Leonard graduated from Van Rensselaer High School, Rensselaer N.Y. Served honorably with the US Army, was a member of International Painters Union Local 201 and worked for various construction companies until he became ill. Survived by a son, Desmond (Pamela) Shorts, Atlanta, Ga. Two sisters Annabelle (Luther) Newsome, Albany, N.Y., and Janice (Jacques) Dorsey,Corona Calif.; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service at Metropolitan NT Baptist Church. Interment, Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery.
