Gleason, Helene EAST GREENBUSH Helene Gleason, 96, passed away on November 11, 2015, at the Evergreen Commons Nursing Home. Born and raised in Rensselaer, Helene was the daughter of the late Harry Brouker and Catherine Whitman-Brouker. She graduated from Van Rensselaer High School in 1936. She lived her later years in North Albany and then Colonie. Helene was a communicant of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany. In addition to being a devoted mother, Helene was the executive secretary to the president of the National Commercial Bank for many years. Helene was an avid reader and also enjoyed following the horses at Saratoga, something she was still talking about in her last weeks of life. In addition to her parents, Helene was predeceased by her brother, Harry and dear sister-in-law, Lillian. She is survived by her dedicated sons, John (Lisa Loucks) and Richard (Roseann) Gleason. Helene was the proud grandmother of David (Mary) and Matthew (Nora) Gleason and great-grandmother to Maryn and Miles. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the loving care and support provided to Helene by the staff of Evergreen Commons. A special thank you to her good neighbors Irene and Joann, as well. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
