Mitchell, Judy (Davey) RENSSELAER Judy Davey Mitchell, age 68, of Rensselaer passed away surrounded by her family at St. Peter's Hospice Inn on Saturday, January 21, 2012. She was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer. Judy was employed as a switchboard secretary for the Rensselaer School District. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Rensselaer PTSA and ladies auxiliary of the Chemical and Hose Company #4. Judy taught and enjoyed arts and crafts teaching at the Rensselaer Boys and Girls Club. She enjoyed photography. She worked in security at the Times Union Center and in the summer she worked at the kiddie pool on East Street in Rensselaer. Mother of Suzanne (the late Bob) Whitford, Todd (Joanne) Mitchell, Brian (Nicole) Mitchell and Christopher (Jorden) Mitchell; grandmother of Anthony, Nicholas, Taylor, Tori, Sam, Emily, Mikayla, Emma, Katelyn, Kristopher, Kaili, Kyria and Kendra; sister of Betty (Art) Archambault. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and countless students at RCSD who thought of Judy as an adoptive grandmother, friend and mentor.
