Officers and members of the Gerald O'Neil American Legion Post 1683 in Rensselaer met on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., at Lyons Funeral Home to conduct services for our departed member Kenneth B. Kross. Kenneth Kross, 87, who dropped out of high school in 1944 to fight for his country, was awarded high school diploma on May 7th, 2015. "WWII Navy veteran Ken Kross, an 87-year-old cancer patient, laughs as the principal of Rensselaer High School tells him she looked up his grades, during a diploma ceremony at Van Rensselaer Heights apartments in Rensselaer, N.Y. Kross dropped out of Rensselaer High School more than 70 years ago and never received a diploma. Kross had enlist in the military and served during World War II.
