Officers and members of the Gerald O'Neil American Legion Post 1683 in Rensselaer met on Monday, May 18, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., at Lyons Funeral Home to conduct services for our departed member Kenneth B. Kross. br> br> Kenneth Kross, 87, who dropped out of high school in 1944 to fight for his country, was awarded high school diploma on May 7th, 2015. br> br> "WWII Navy veteran Ken Kross, an 87-year-old cancer patient, laughs as the principal of Rensselaer High School tells him she looked up his grades, during a diploma ceremony at Van Rensselaer Heights apartments in Rensselaer, N.Y. Kross dropped out of Rensselaer High School more than 70 years ago and never received a diploma. Kross had enlist in the military and served during World War II.
