Marie (Ganance) Mull , VRHS Class of 1957
Marie E. Mull ("Lammy" Ganance) 84 of Castleton On Hudson, peacefully passed away at home on May 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born in Albany, the daughter of Clarence Ganance and Marie (Jones) Ganance. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard B. Mull; granddaughters, Faith Gloris and Gemma Primero; the father of her 11 children Charles P.Sofia Sr.; siblings, Elizabeth Bailey, Gladys Goca, Edith Narzymski, Helen George, Veda Boyd, Doris Hodges, Maureen Hall, Clarence Ganance Jr, Joseph Ganance, and Herbert Ganance. Marie was also predeceased by her partner of 10 years Al Robichaud. Survived by her children, Chuck Sofia (Noel), Lawrence Sofia, Denise Carpinello (Willie), Sandra Papandrea, Dawn Morris, Brenda Gloris, Joseph Sofia, Michael Sofia, Sharon Mantaski (Bob), Lisa Sofia (David Pulikowski), and Mary Sofia; and Stepmother of Sherrie Grieco (Benny), Shelley Simms (Alan), and Richard Mull Jr. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Marie worked as a clerk for the USPS for 25 years. After retiring, she enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling on her trips to Maine. She was active with the Church and with her lady friends in the SKI (Spending Kids Inheritance) Club. Marie will be remembered as a loving mother, tremendous cook, baker, decorator, painter, wall paperer, seamstress, mechanic, and wise counselor on life's challenges.
