Vittorio "Victor" Cipollari , VRHS Class of 1958

Cipollari, Vittorio "Victor" RENSSELAER On July 2, 2015, Victor, age 74, suddenly left this earth in his favorite place-Ontario, Canada. Victor was an outdoorsman who loved nature and its simplicity.

He was born on September 17, 1940, in Schenectady to Italian immigrants, Antonio and Madeline (Carusone) Cipollari. He was the stepson of Sante Fiacco. Victor was the younger brother of the late Angeline Stasack Lown and Antonio Cipollari. He was raised in Rensselaer where he attended Van Rensselaer High School and graduated in 1958. Vic then entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Florida, where he met his wife of 51 years, Patricia McGinnis. He and Pat recently celebrated their 50th anniversary traveling around Italy. Victor was the dedicated father to four daughters: Theresa (William Muller), Victoria (Pete Sweeney), Christina (James Gilbert) and Monica. He was the godfather to Judith Cipollari and Jonathan Schroll. Victor was survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great friends, and his amazing neighbors on Fourth Street.

Victor loved to spend his weekends at his camp in the Adirondacks, fishing and hunting with friends and his beagle, Max. Every summer he and Patricia would go to their cabin in Canada to relax and fish. He left the world in this very place that was so dear to his heart. Victor was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and loved spending his Wednesday evenings listening to music in the park. Victor was the definition of a hard-working man. He was a supervisor at the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. He would assist his good friends at Lyons Funeral Home and was a member of the Rensselaer Kiwanis. He attended St. Joseph's Church in Rensselaer.

A celebration of Victor's life was held at W.J. Lyons Funeral Home in Rensselaer. Interment with military honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
