Donna M (Perez) Roy , VRHS Class of 1971
Rensselaer- Donna M. (Perez) Roy age 68, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late James and Patricia (McDonald) Perez. Donna was employed by CDPHP in Albany and previously worked for Aquatic Development. She was known as a workaholic, but also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Donna would adopt a child from the City of Rensselaer every Christmas and would give them the Christmas they deserved. Beloved sister of James Perez (Pat), Diane Perez, Anita Perez (Brian), Stephen Perez (Carolyn), Robert Perez (Dawn), Denise Charron (the late Robert), Lawrence Perez (Sharon), Anthony Perez (Kelly), and the late Joseph Perez. Godmother of Lawrence Perez, Jr. Dear friend of Carolyn Herrewyn, who came to visit on a regular basis which Donna looked forward to. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Erin, Manuel, all the siblings, nieces and nephews that assisted with Donna's care to keep her at home, where she wanted to be. Funeral mass was offered from The Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
