Earl L Wilson , VRHS Class of 1952

William E. Wilson, age 79 of Pratt Rd. Batavia, died Wednesday, Jan. 14th 2009 at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Warsaw, April 13th 1929 the son of the late Cleon and Alice (VanAllen) Wilson. William was a lifetime resident of the area and worked as a Mill Operator for Agway in Batavia for 40 years before retiring in 1984. Bill served in the Marine Corp as a meteorologist during the Korean War Era. He was a longtime member of Wyoming Baptist Church and American Legion who enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Pauline in August of 2007. Also predeceased are 2 Sisters; Marian Langdon, Lucille Cooper, 2 Brothers; Chester and Robert Wilson. Survivors include 2 Daughters; Susan (Steve) Lee of Warsaw, Amy Wilson-Hall of Batavia, a Son; Dennis (Ruth) Wilson of Corfu, a Brother; Charles (Alice) Wilson of Wyoming, 3 Step-Daughters; Linda (Vincent) Wise of Cuba, NY, Alice (Robert) Buckle of Batavia Paula (Robert) Mendez of Penfield, a Step-Son; Donald (Diane) Bartz of Arizona, 10 Grandchildren, 18 Step-Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; Nadia Smith, Maya Compton, and Blake Lee, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends of William Wilson may call on Saturday, January 17th from 10-11am at Weeks Funeral Home 123 N. Main St. Warsaw where funeral services will be held at 11am with Pastor Douglas Evans of Wyoming Baptist Church as celebrant. A Spring burial will follow in the Wyoming Cemetery.
