Jean (Dutcher) Beiermeister , VRHS Class of 1945

Beiermeister, Jean CASTLETON Jean Beiermeister, 85, entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2013, at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Castleton, her home for the last nine years.

Jean was born in Albany and grew up in Rensselaer. She was the daughter of Louis H. and Elizabeth Dutcher. Predeceased by her husband, Robert E Beiermeister and two sisters, Betty Lou Lehner and Marion Shulz. Jean graduated from Rensselaer High School, was a Cadet Army RN graduate of Union College/Albany Medical Center and held a bachelor of science degree in visual arts from Empire State College SUNY. Her professions were numerous and included nursing, hospital administration, clerical, sales, and entrepreneurship. Her businesses included "Jean's Sewing Center," "Finish Knit," "Mother Hubbard's Cupboard" and "The Victorian Album Collection." She was an accomplished artist and poet, and a gifted seamstress and needleworker. Her creative designs appeared on greeting cards for the Marian Heath Company and The Gifted Line. Jean's family and friends will remember her for the beauty she brought to their lives, as well as sharing her deep respect for the arts and education.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Ciprioni, Lynne Beiermeister and Marion (Joseph) Robichaud; five grandsons, Jeffrey, Gregory and Dominic Ciprioni, Joseph Robichaud Jr. and Michael Robichaud and two granddaughters, Megan Longworth and Catherine McLean. She also leaves four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral was at the Rockefeller Funeral Home and at the Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights. Interment in Bethlehem Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing for their kindness in caring for Jean and for the support they showed the family through her long stay there.
