James Martin Nash, Sr , VRHS Class of 1953

RENSSELAER - James "Jim" Nash, died peacefully at his home on April 19, 2023, in Rensselaer, at the age of 88.
Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Maxine, his three sons, Jim (Lisa) of Philadelphia, Larry (Andrea) of Latham, and Mark (Cheri) of Buffalo; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Edward, Robert and Timothy Nash. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edward and Minnie Nash; his first wife, Joan Mitchell Nash (1983); and step-grandson, Greg Martini (2022).
Jim was born in Albany. He graduated from Van Rensselaer High School in 1953. Jim was an excellent musician playing drums in several bands over the years. He married Maxine in 1985. They both worked for the N.Y.S. Department of Motor Vehicles. This experience helped them both when Jim was Regional Director for the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators until his retirement. Maxine was a great asset.
There will be no funeral at the request of the family. Jim has donated his remains to the Anatomical Gift Program.
