Francis "Frank" Atwood Adams , VRHS Class of 1960

RENSSELAER -- Francis "Frank" Atwood Adams, 79 of Rensselaer, passed away on April 1, 2021, after a long battle with chronic illnesses. Frank was born in Albany in 1942.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Jean (Pratt) Adams, of 38 years. His children, including Lisa, Timothy, Steven, Todd Adams, Tina (Balls) Biette, Maria (Balls) Nardacci; and grandchildren, Mike Juliano Jr. (Eslana Juliano), Zachary Adams (Nicole Adams), Marissa Brevoort, Bradley Adams, Jonathan Adams, Mackenzie Adams, Jonas Johnson, Gianna Johnson, Belicia Biette, Maddison Adams and Jayden Harrington; great-grandchildren include Aiden Brevoort, Liliana Brevoort, Adriana Juliano, Lincoln Adams, and Michael N. Juliano. Also survived by his siblings, Bruce and Daryl Adams; and several nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Adams, Sr. and Marjorie Fulton Adams; siblings, George Wolfenton, Virgina Geracia, Lillian Adams, Walter Adams and Howard Adams, Jr.

Frank served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Frank was a lifetime long member with over 25 years of service with Chemical and Hose Company #4, past firefighter, 2nd Lt, 1st Lt, and captain. He was owner/operator of Frank Adams Heating and Plumbing for over 54 years. Frank worked for the US Postal for 20 years, retiring in 2004 as a dock supervisor. He enjoyed drag racing at Lebanon Valley, golfing, darts, bocce and archery. He often spent his evenings watching Wheel of Fortune. Frank was also actively involved in the Gerald O'Neil American Legion, DAV and Cohoes-Waterford Elks, Eagles.

The family of Frank Adams wishes to thank Dr. Roth and Andrea Gallerie of the VA Medical Center. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, Interment in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Gerald O'Neil American Legion.
