Gardner, Edward C. SCHODACK Edward C. Gardner, age 77, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was born in Albany and has been a resident of Schodack for 30 years. Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer and the Norton Co., in Watervliet employed Ed. He was an avid gardener, carpenter, dog lover and enjoyed bowling. Ed was an excellent cook who liked to share his cooking with his family. Loving husband of Beth Johnson; stepfather of Lisa (John) Kizer, Wendy Johnson and Keith Johnson (Andrea Larrabee); brother of Edith (late Cyril) Trager, Joan Henchey and the late Donald Gardner, Arlene (late Dennis) Ellis and Eleanor (late Herbert) Farley; brother-in-law of Flo Gardner. Also survived by five step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer Tuesday at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. (NOTE CHANGE). Interment will be in Horizonview Cemetery, Castleton.
