Bernard Stock , VRHS Class of 1955

Albany - Bernard R. "Bernie" Stock, 69, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernie was the beloved husband of 44 years of Nancy Ruede Stock.
Born in Rensselaer, he was the sone of the late Charles M and Clara (Carman) Stock. He was a graduate of Van Rensselaer High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Bernie was a senior lab tech for the NYS Department of Health, retiring in 1995. An accomplished musician, he played the trumpet in a Dixieland band called the Old Wazoo Good Time Band. Bernie was a horse racing enthusiast and an avid Siena Saints basketball fan.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Michele A Caroli of Kissimmee, Fla., Cheryl L. Stock of Albany and Kimberly R. Lathrop of Rensselaer: his brother, Charles W. (Barbara) Stock of Rensselaer: three grandchildren, Jonathan and Alexandra Caroli and Celena A. Lathrop; his brother-in-law, Rev. Ernest Ruede of New Bern, N.C.,; his sister-in-law, Mary E. (Barry) Wengert of Cedar Lake, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Dudek and the nurses at NY Oncology Hematology for the kind and compassionate care given to Bernie during his illness.
Internment, Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
