Salvatore V Scattereggia , VRHS Class of 1955

Salvatore V. Scattareggia, 80, of North Fort Myers, passed away on July 12, 2017, at home with his wife, Jessie, by his side. He was born July 2, 1937, in Brooklyn, to Peter and Vincenza "Jennie" Scattareggia.

Salvatore, "Sal" attended elementary school in Brooklyn, East Hartford, Conn. and Fort Crailo School in Rensselaer; graduated in 1955 from Van Rensselaer HS where he excelled in basketball. Sal was in the U. S. Army, stationed in Korea. Sal was employed by the Roger Sherman Transfer Co., Albany, Schaefer Brewing Co. Albany, R. K. Freedman & Sons, Green Island and Crash Brothers, Utica. He attended Holy Trinity Church, North Fort Myers.

Sal is survived by his wife, Jessie; his children, Salvatore (Debbie), Vincent (Pam), Tracy and Anthony Scattareggia; his stepchildren, Marybeth (Bryan) Dailey, Frances (Timothy) Howard and Theresa Filkins. Survived by his sister, Marge Scattareggia. Also survived by grandchildren, Anthony, Joshua, Amber, Nicolas, Danielle, Tory, Jessica, Erica, Rachael, T.J., Joshua, and by 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother, Eugene Scattareggia; sister, Gerry Mosher; and grandson, Stephen.

Interment is at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
