Peirce, Carol B. RENSSELAER Carol Barbara McGovern Peirce, born October 2, 1939, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007. She was born in Albany and was raised in Rensselaer. Carol attended Van Rensselaer High School and was employed as a secretary at various locations, including Eastern Chemical, Sterling Winthrop and the New York State Dept. of Health. She was an avid gardener, painter, musician, author, traveler, and bowler and was a lover of basketball, Yankee baseball, film and the opera. Wife of David Nathaniel Peirce, whom she married June 1, 1962 and was a loving and devoted mother to four children Jonathon, Eric, Daniel and Barbara. Carol was a loving and devoted grandmother to six grandchildren, Isaac, Rowan, Henry, Nathaniel, Lily and Thelonious. She is also survived by her mother Lillian Swantek and brothers, James (Barbara) and Conrad (Carol); also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Drs. Cunningham and Resta and all the wonderful staff at New York Oncology and Hematology and to the staff who cared for her at Samaritan Hospital.
