Peirce - David N., 77, of Rensselaer NY, died in his home, February 15, 2017. Born in Des Moines, IA, to Theodore and Ruth (Thatcher) Peirce on July 28, 1939, and lived most of his life in Rensselaer, NY. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Carol (McGovern), brother William Peirce and sister Phyllis. Survived by his children; Jonathan & Nancy (Kulpinski) Peirce of Sparta, NJ; Eric & Jessica (Lauzon) Peirce of Amesbury, MA; Daniel & Tina (Eastman) Peirce of Mt.Hood, OR; and Barbara (Peirce) & Douglas Agans of Rensselaer, NY. Also by in-laws James & Barbara McGovern and Conrad McGovern. David leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Thelonious, Nathaniel, Lily, Akasha and Odin Peirce; Arthur Agans; Isaac & Leaha (Allen), Rowan, and Henry Goca; and his great-grandson Lucas Goca. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. David was frequently surrounded by his lifelong friends Ed Plew, Bill Schilling, Rodney Schroeder, Ben Thorpe, Conrad & Matthew McGovern, and by his devoted neighbors, Donna Gregory & Robin Ganance, all of whom the family wishes to thank for their kindness and loving support. David was retired from a career with various New York State Departments, including Social Services and Taxation & Finance. However, his real life revolved around his family, Jazz, books, sports, and conversation.
