Kenneth Allard , VRHS Class of 1960

Allard, Kenneth SCHODACK On February 13, 2014, Kenneth Allard, 71, passed into eternal rest peacefully, following a courageous and valiant fight against multiple myeloma for 20 years.

I am his loving wife of 28 wonderful years, Jane (Finkle) Allard. He was my soulmate. He was the loving father to Darlene (Tom) Christie and Christina (Jim) Leyden. They loved him dearly and will miss him more than anyone will know. He left behind four grandchildren, Allisa, Kevin, Kody (Nichole), Marcus; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Alivea. He also left behind his loving brother, Gary (Pat) Allard; a sister, Sharon (David) Foust; sister-in-law, Barbara Bartley; brother-in-law, Peter Finkle; nephew, Hal Bartley; niece, Lisa Finkle; and many more nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Angie and Raymond Allard and was born in Winooski, Vt. They moved to Rensselaer when he was 14, and he graduated from Van Rensselaer High School. He then joined the Air Force. He served four years and traveled to all the trouble spots in the world to set up communications. He worked for Continental Can Company and Sterling Drug when he came home. He loved hunting and fishing and of course his Boston Red Sox and Bruins hockey teams.
