Eileen "Helen" Pillsworth , VRHS Class of 1963

Pillsworth, Eileen CASTLETON Eileen Pillsworth, 70, of Castleton passed away November 8, 2015, at Riverside Nursing Home.

Eileen was born on July 7, 1945, in Rensselaer and was the youngest child of the late Sigmund and Anna Ross. In addition to her work as a homemaker, Eileen was also the cook for the Schodack Central School District, the assistant librarian at the Castleton Public Library, a teller at Key Bank in Castleton, and the executive assistant to the supervisor of the Town of Schodack. Eileen was an excellent cook and baker and those who shared meals with her will cherish those memories. There was always room for one more at her table. As a testament to her cooking skills, she received many compliments from students for making even school food taste good. Eileen will be remembered for her strength in beating the odds when diagnosed with cancer. She fought until the end with grace and dignity.

Eileen is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Bert Pillsworth; three children, Patricia Pillsworth (Tony) of Castleton, Timothy Pillsworth (Heather) of Washingtonville, N.Y. and Shawn Pillsworth (Brittain) of Jacksonville, Fla.; four cherished grandchildren, Eleanor, William, Jonathan, and Rylen; her sisters, Shirley DeLorimiere of Nassau, and Barbara Buscini (Joseph) of Rensselaer; and two brothers, William Ross of Brooksville, Fla., and Paul Ross of Colonie. She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Ross.

Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church Herrick Street, Rensselaer where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
