Louis Polsinello, Sr , VRHS Class of 1952

Polsinello, Louis R. Sr. EAST GREENBUSH Louis Polsinello Sr., 80, passed away on September 18, 2014, at his home after a courageous battle with ALS.

He was born in Rensselaer in October 1933. Lou was the son of the late Angelo and Mamie Polsinello. He graduated from Van Rensselaer High School in 1952. Lou was the founder of Polsinello Fuels in 1954. Lou will always be remembered as an admired businessman and good friend. He enjoyed fishing and boating with all his friends in Florida. He was a member of the Rensselaer Elks Lodge 2073 and the J.N. Ring Fire Company in Rensselaer. Lou was also a past president of the Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his loving wife Priscilla; his beloved son Louis Jr. (Judy) and stepdaughters, Michelle McCallion (Joe) and Ariann Bazinet and stepson Daniel Bazinet (Arlene). Louis is also survived by his grandchildren, Louis (Crystal), Matt (Leslie), Beth (Alex) Younkins, and Michael McCallion. He was also the great-grandfather of Samantha, Madelyn, Louis and Angelo. He was predeceased by his infant sister Virginia and survived by his sisters, Virginia Vallee and Joan Kaiser, also many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lou was a devoted nephew of the late Mary Hanley.

We also thank Dr. Leyhane, Dr. Barry and the Community Care staff, Dr, Miller, Kim McClintock and the staff of the ALS Division of St Peter's, ELizabeth Hanlon, the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association staff and The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County. Our appreciation to all who participated in the ALS ice bucket challenge in honor of Lou.
