Mary Kay (Thibault) Frankoski , VRHS Class of 1961

Rensselaer- Mary Katherine (Thibault) Frankoski passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Mary Kay was born April 13, 1943 in Albany, NY to the late Joseph Paul and Katherine Thibault. She was a lifelong resident of the city of Rensselaer and a graduate of Van Rensselaer High School class of 1961.

After being chased for over four years by fellow classmate Raymond Frankoski, she finally said yes to their first date which turned into 57 years of blissful marriage. Mary Kay worked for Albany Felt and Woodward Co as a secretary and board operator before becoming a stay-at-home mom raising two amazing children. When her children were in high school, she returned to the workforce and worked at Dr. Couch and Valentini Podiatry office as a medical assistant for many years until her retirement.

Mary Kay and Ray loved to travel and were fortunate to visit many beautiful places around the United States, including five trips to Hawaii. For over 45 years, they loved to camp at their seasonal site at Alpine Lake in Corinth NY, where they made lifelong friends. In addition to this, she loved her girl trips to Rockport, MA each summer. Mary Kay dedicated her life to making others happy. She loved hosting Sunday family dinners and making Christmas cookies with her granddaughters every year.

She is survived by her beloved husband Raymond Frankoski, son James (Jill) Frankoski, daughter Lisa Frankoski, grandchildren Tyler (Autumn) Trembly, Casey Frankoski, Jesse (Reigan) Frankoski, Sophie Vogel, great grandchildren Stella, Peyton, Xylas, Charlotte, Mia and Finnley, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Robert Thibault.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff from C8, M4, and especially the loving, caring, and patient staff from E3 at Albany Medical Center.

A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 9:00am at St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph Church, Herrick Street, Rensselaer, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 3-6pm at W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer NY.
