Anne Loretta (Dambrose) Pratt , VRHS Class of 1965

RENSSELAER Ann Loretta Pratt (Dambrose), 74 of Rensselaer, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, February 21, 2021, at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Ann was born in Rensselaer and was the daughter of the late George and Olga Dambrose; and the beloved and cherished wife of James F. Pratt of Rensselaer. Ann loved the Lord and was truly a woman of God to all who knew her. She loved her church, City Harvest Family Church in Albany, Pastor Ernest and Nancy Fink and those who attended. She led a weekly women's bible study, served in the church wherever needed, was a counselor and a mother to many. Ann was our "dancing queen," as she loved to dance any chance she was given - church, weddings, parties, if there was music and a dance floor, she was on it, even in her living room with her grandkids. Ann loved life, she was always up for an adventure (prank) or running to Boscov's. She loved her music, Pepsi, pizza, McDonalds and of course, Dunkin' Donuts! Many times, she would have one of these as she was laying in the sun. She was the life of the party, always ready with a wise crack or witty observation. Wherever she went, she had fun or made her own fun, and as much as she loved life, she loved her family more. Ann cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild, and she was not just a grandmother, she was "Nanny."

In addition to her husband Jim, Ann is survived by her loving children, Mark G. (Tanya) Pratt, Christopher M. Pratt, Tamera E. (Charles) Muller, and Benjamin M. Pratt. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Charissa (Matt) Tonkin, Cayla Pratt, Cassie Muller, Chelsie Muller, Jordan Pratt, Jared Pratt and Noah Tonkin. Ann is also survived by cousins, Toni Murphy, Ruth Ross, Nancy Knapp, Lori Dambrose, Ernie Dambrose and a large extended family. Ann also leaves behind many cherished friends, Charlie and Joan Twiss, Pastor Fred and Evelyn Sanles, Michael and Tracy Vincent, Brian and Jacquie Packham, John and Joan Campetelle and many more.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ellis Hospital in Schenectady for the care given to Ann in her final moments. Funeral services and a celebration of life were held in the City Harvest Family Church in Albany for friends. Ann will be laid to rest in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rensselaer. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Lyons Funeral Home.

Contributions may be made in honor of Ann Pratt to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at jdrf.org.
