Lionel Ferguson, Sr , VRHS Class of 1950
RENSSELAER Lionel Ferguson Sr., 82, of Rensselaer, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Albany Medical Center. Lionel was born in Kingston, the son of Leonard and Clara (Jones) Ferguson. He served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Lionel later became a bus driver for CDTA where he worked for 33 years retiring in 1996. Lionel is survived by his beloved wife, Anita E. (Hughes) Ferguson; loving father to his children, Lionel (Sharon) Ferguson Jr., Eryn (Robert) Giordano and Lauren Ferguson. Lionel was the proud Poppi of Alexander, Sophia, Lionel III, Hannah and Gabriel. Lionel is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral was on Monday, May 18, 2015, at Wilborn Temple, Albany. Friends attended calling hours at the Rockefeller Funeral Home. Interment is in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
