Robert G Berry, Jr , VRHS Class of 1970

Robert G. Berry, 74, of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Van Rensselaer Manor, surrounded by his loving family, following complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Born in 1951, Robert was the son of the late Robert G. Berry Sr. and Marilyn (Rodford) Berry. A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, he was raised in Rensselaer before making his home in East Greenbush with his beloved wife, Kathleen.
Robert was educated in the Rensselaer public school system and went on to serve the State of New York with dedication for many years. He worked as a clerk and later as a process server before retiring from the New York State Department of Transportation. He was also a proud volunteer firefighter with the James Hill Hook and Ladder Fire Company.
Robert had a great love for travel and RVing. He was known for his warm personality, sense of humor, and love of people. He especially enjoyed relaxing with a beer and good conversation.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Kathleen (Walsh) Berry; his cherished son, Robert G. (Sheri) Berry III; his adored grandchildren, Madison Berry and Zachary Berry; and his great grandson Grayson Flandreau. He is also survived by his dear cousin, Mary Lou (Rodford) Malatesta, along with many other loving cousins, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brother, John Berry, and his cousin, Ronald Rodford.
The family would like to thank Van Rensselaer Manor and the wonderful staff on B-1 who were a second family to them during this difficult time.
Interment will take place at New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush.
